The state currently does not have a sales and use tax. However, some jurisdictions impose local sales taxes. Sales tax rates range from a low of 1% to a high of 7% in 89 municipalities that levy a general sales tax.
In Alaska only a small portion of the land mass is subject to a property tax. Also senior citizen and disabled veterans will get exemption from assed value of property while calculating the taxes.
