You need not file a separate Arkansas extension if you already extended your federal tax filing by filing Federal Form 4868. When you file your Arkansas tax return, you need to check the box on the face of the Arkansas return indicating you filed a federal extension. If you do not file a federal extension, you need to file an Arkansas extension using Form AR1055 before the filing due date of April 15th. If you owe taxes, you need to send it along with the request for extension.
