Single Tax Filing Status

Single Your filing status is single, if you were never married, or does not qualify to be Head of Household.

Married Filing Joint If you were married on the last day of the calender year, you can file a joint return with your spouse. Both spouses income must be added together.

Head of Household If you are single or separated from your spouse with a qualifing dependent, and provided more than half the cost of keeping up a home, you can claim this filing status.
