California Tax Form : 540/A California Resident Income Tax Return
Form 540A is short form and an individual who does not itemize tax deductions or claim tax credits can use it. All others must file Form 540 the long form. You also need to use supplemental schedules and worksheet to figure your state taxes and need to file along with Form 540.
