Montana Tax Filing Requirements
If you are a resident, nonresident, or a part-year resident, you have to fi le a Montana individual income tax return when you have Montana source income and your federal gross income, excluding unemployment compensation, is equal to or greater than the corresponding amounts that are identifi ed in the chart below.
You must file a Tax Return, if your income exceeds the limit for the filing status.
