The basic return package costs $29.95. However, there are strange fees that will make the price of any return quickly spiral out of control. E-filing itself costs an extra $20. Standard credits and itemized deductions are $10 apiece, and there is a $30.95 “bank fee” and $30 “refund transfer.” Almost any return end up being more expensive than any other suite.
The software itself has almost no features to speak of; it is essentially a calculator that will check to make sure you don’t enter two contradictory numbers in the same slot. That’s it.
